An Afternoon of Khinkali

If you read my last post about khinkali, you'll know that my family is crazy for the Georgian soup dumpling. To learn how to prepare them, my mom and I over the summer went over to my Aunt Olga's (tell me she doesn't remind you of The Barefoot Contessa, Ina Garten) for a lesson in khinkali. What ensued was an afternoon of "playing in the sand," lots of bubbly, laughter, and... a hoverboard? Thankfully, my oh-so-talented best friend Kelsey Petrie was there to film it all so that you can join in on the fun too. Enjoy and prepare yourself for lots of laughter!

P.S. Like my friend Anna Brones mentioned today in her Advent newsletter (highly recommend subscribing!), the holiday season is a time of consumption that can be quite stressful and overwhelming. It's important to step back, bring in a bit of mindfulness in our day-to-day, and maybe even create something for a change. This week marks Make SMTHNG Weekโ€”a festival that challenges our consumerist society by inspiring people all over the world to make something!

Craft your own ornaments, preserve lemons or candy nuts as DIY gifts for loved ones, or better yetโ€”grab a friend and family member and make these khinkali for an afternoon you won't forget.

I would love to see what you all come up with, so don't forget to tag #chesnokblog and #makesmthng so I can follow along!
